Step 6. Interviews

Step 8. Attend Sheriff’s Academy for Training

Once you have passed your medical and psychological examinations, you will be trained in how to become a Sheriff Deputy in Washington County.  Your training sessions will be carried out:

  • At an in-house academy

  • With a Field Training Officer

Training for patrol will be for 7 to 8 weeks in-house and then for 16 weeks at the State Academy.  Once you have completed your academy training, you will train with an officer in the field for 4 to 5 months.
